“THE UNITED KINGDOM NO LONGER HAS A VIBRANT REGGAE MARKET” SAYS ONE OF ITS LEADING PROMOTERS!

 Pauline Stephenson—- THOUGH it is home to thousands of people with Jamaican heritage, the United Kingdom no longer has a vibrant reggae market.  According to Pauline Stephenson, a Jamaican publicist who lives in London, that slump continued in 2015. Stephenson is principal of Magnetic Energy Promotions which helped organize the One Love Festival and shows by singer Lukie D in the UK this year. “The most fulfilling thing in terms of what I do was the One Love Festival, which embraced reggae across the board in relation to patrons and artists from various countries,” Stephenson told the Jamaica Observer. “It exposed the unity that can be instilled when people communicate, share a true love and passion for the genre.” There was no increase in the number of shows featuring Jamaican artists, especially contemporary acts. BOUNTY KILLER URGES HIS FELLOW ARTISTS TO “MAKE BETTER MUSIC!”

LEROY SIBBLES RELEASES THE “FEEL GOOD” RIDDIM!

Now-a-days the legendary singer/songwriter/musician Leroy Sibbles divides his time between touring, recording and producing for his indie label "Bright Beam Music". He recently released a new riddim featuring some the top names in the industry, including another legend, The Queen, Marcia Griffiths.  LUST performing at the Soul in the Sun music festival in Montego Bay on Friday— DANCEHALL quartet LUST is currently working on material for a new studio album. SINGER LUKIE D WANTS MORE AIRTIME FOR HIS LATEST SINGLE “CRYING OVER YOU!”

His self-produced single — Crying Over You — has found its way on the playlist of several radio stations. However, he feels it deserves more airtime. “It is being played, I’ve heard it. The rotation is not at the level where I would want it. Good music is good music. Once you record a great track, your fans will eventually hear it,” he told the Jamaica Observer.
