 Macka B— THE last time Macka B was in Jamaica, it was late May 2010 and he was down to perform on Western Consciousness in Westmoreland. Things did not go as planned. “It rain an’ the show was called off, an’ it was the same day with the Dudus thing. The whole place was inna turmoil,” he recalled. The 49-year-old British deejay is scheduled to perform Saturday at Rebel Salute. VP RECORDS’ VPAL DISTRIBUTION, IS KEEPING THE BEAT ALIVE!

Six years ago, the Queens, New York label launched its VP Associated Label (VPAL) which distributes music by artists and producers looking to tap into mainstream and remote markets. Donovan Williams, label manager at VPAL, said 2015 has been its most productive year. “It has been a good year, we’ve seen substantial growth on the distribution and the production side and we’ve gotten inquiries from so many independent artists, producers & managers worldwide about our services,” Williams told the Sunday Observer. THE U.K’s TOP DEE JAY MACKA B, STILL PLAYS HIS 45-VINYL RECORDS!

 Macka B—- ONE of the biggest thrills as a boy for deejay Macka B was going to record stores and buying the latest 45. For the youngsters, that’s a vinyl single. Now 50, the veteran British toaster recalls those days on Never Played A 45, his album and song of the same name. Co-produced by Chris Peckings, the songs on the album are done to classic reggae beats. Never Played A 45 is driven by Toots and The Maytals’ 54-46. “Never Played A 45 is about the beauty of vinyl.
