“SIMPLY MYRNA” HEADS TO THE U.S.A!

SLY & ROBBIE TO RECEIVE MUSGRAVE MEDALS FROM THE INSTITUTE OF JAMAICA, OCTOBER 28!

Bassist Robbie Shakespeare (left) and drummer Sly Dunbar.—- The enduring drum and bass team of Lowell ‘Sly’ Dunbar and Robert ‘Robbie’ Shakespeare are among this year’s recipients of Musgrave Medals from the Institute Of Jamaica. Eight persons will receive medals, with Sly and Robbie and Harvard University professor Orlando Patterson getting gold. The other awardees will receive silver medals. They are singer Myrna Hague-Bradshaw, creative choreographer Patricia ‘Patsy’ Ricketts, poet Dr Ralph Thompson, photographer Donnette Ingrid Zacca, architect Errol Charles Alberga Jr, and physician Anthony Vendryes. The recipients will receive their medals in a October 28 ceremony in the IOJ’s Lecture Hall at Tower Street, downtown Kingston.
