Me 4 U, the debut album from reggae singer OMI, has been certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). This means that the artiste’s compilation has sold more than 500,000 units. JAMAICAN PRODUCTION OUTFIT, BLACK SHADOW, HAS SIGNED WITH ULTRA MUSIC/RECORDS!

 Troy Rami and Marcos Mejia — PRODUCTION outfit Black Shadow, comprising Jamaican Troyton Rami and Marcos Mejia, recently signed a deal with US-based Ultra Music. According to Rami, the deal will see the release of productions from Black Shadow’s catalog of songs. “We just signed a deal with Ultra Records and we’ll be dropping our songs featuring Rupee, Mad Cobra, and others through Ultra,” said Rami. Tipsy by Black Shadow, featuring Rupee, is the first release under the new deal. The song is featured on the Happy Days Riddim. OMI GETS NOMINATED FOR A BILLBOARD LATIN MUSIC AWARD!

 By Kevin Jackson—  OMI in performance at the Moon Palace Jamaica Resort and Spa in Ocho Rios, St Ann, on Saturday night. Jamaican singer Omi has been nominated for a Billboard Latin Music Award. He is competing against Canadian singer Justin Beiber and the Weeknd as well as British singer Ed Sheeran in the category Crossover Artist of the Year. The Billboard Latin Music Awards is scheduled to take place on April 28 in Miami, Florida. It will air on Spanish channel Telemundo.  The awards is the longest-running and most prestigious award for the Latin music genre. It was first held in 1994.
