WHAT started as a hobby turned out to be a fruitful career for sibling disc jockey/selectors Marcus and Paul Gavin, known in New York party circles as the Platinum Kids. The Manchester-born brothers host the popular Irie Fridays show on Irie Jam Radio in Queens. Their gigs range from house parties to clubs, drawing 3,000 or more fans. Recently they wrapped a five-city trip of the United States with deejay Aidonia and did gigs with Mighty Crown, Fire Links, I-Octane, Jahmiel, Konshens, and Elephant Man.
