Reggae Sumfest 25 was launched in fine style on Thursday evening at Usain Bolt’s Tracks and Records. Following a meet and mingle and an energetic performance from the Sumfest Dancers, MC Miss Kitty officially welcomed guests. “NO FOREIGN ARTISTS FOR REGGAE SUMFEST” DECLARE ITS ORGANIZERS!

With the 16th staging of the festival fast approaching, the businessman has revealed that there will be no international night this year and no international act. The festival, which has been scaled down from three nights to two, will see Dancehall Night being held on Friday, July 22, and Reggae Night on Saturday, July 23. ORGANIZERS OF REGGAE SUMFEST 2014 ARE PLEASED WITH ITS SUCCESSFUL STAGING!

By Cecelia Campbell-Livingston— Godfrey Dyer—- GODFREY Dyer, chairman of Summerfest Productions — organisers of Reggae Sumfest — is pleased with the staging of this year’s week-long event. The chairman said while the final figures have not yet come in, things looked good from his vantage point. “I honestly don’t have the numbers yet. I won’t get it for another couple days,” he said. “But everything went according to plan. Personally, I am happy with how it came off, patrons were able to leave before the sun came up. We had to bear in mind that some patrons walked to the venue, so we didn’t want to dismiss too early.” Last year, organisers were contemplating shifting the festival to June as they were encountering challenges with artists booked for summer overseas gigs. BUGLE GEARS UP FOR HIS FOURTH PERFORMANCE AT REGGAE SUMFEST!

Still riding high from the release of his debut album Anointed a few months ago, dancehall/reggae artist and songwriter Bugle is set to deliver a creditable performance at this week’s staging of Reggae Sumfest in Montego Bay. The deejay is billed to perform on Dancehall Night (Thursday July 17). He promised that fans are in for a musical treat. ‘The fans can expect a proper performance. I have grown a lot over the years and I have now reached a stage in my career where I have become a good performer where stage shows are concerned’, Bugle stated in a media release.
