REBEL SALUTE TAKES AN INCLUSIVE APPROACH IN SELECTING PERFORMERS FOR THE TWO-DAY EVENT!

Then, Lady Saw was presenting an alternative – specific to the performance – to her well-established ultra-raunchy performing personality. She returns to Rebel Salute on Friday as Marion Hall yet again, but this time around, there is no Lady Saw – a persona the deejay shed with her conversion to Christianity in 2015 – for a few fans to want a flash of. SANCHEZ TO DO MORE SHOWS IN JAMAICA!

 Sanchez performing at the recent Montreal International Reggae Festival.— Lovers rock giant Sanchez has no regrets about his decision to do more shows in Jamaica this year. He says the move has paid dividends and some. The singer, who had strong performances at Rebel Salute in January and Reggae Sumfest in July, also hosts a weekly session in St Ann, which has grown in popularity. “I guess you could say that this is the year of Sanchez,” said the 52-year-old vocalist, who broke through 29 years ago with the Red Man-produced Lady In Red. SANCHEZ BROUGHT THE HOUSE DOWN ON REGGAE SUMFEST 2016!

Sanchez— Reggae singer Sanchez brought the house down with his exceptional vocal skills as Reggae Night of Sumfest got into high gear at the Catherine Hall Entertainment Complex. For the greater part of his act, Sanchez had the patrons singing along and dancing as his crisp voice belted out Hallelujah, One In A million,  Wild Sanchez,   Lonely Won’t Leave Me Alone and much more. He was also well received during the segment he used to pay tribute in song to late reggae superstars: Dennis Brown, Gregory Issacs, Tenor Saw, Sugar Minott and Bob Marley. DJ FLOURGON, A VETERAN OF THE 80’s, IS BACK ON THE TRAIL!

BY KEVIN JACKSON—  Flourgon— IN the late 1980’s, Flourgon had a number of hit songs, making him one of the period’s most successful deejays. He is hoping to reclaim some of that dominance with his new single, the self-produced You Got Me Talking. The song is released on his Sweet Love Records imprint. “I’m still recording, still doing shows overseas. I have a lot of shows in Europe this summer; I will be going on tour with Sanchez,” Flourgon told the Jamaica Observer. SANCHEZ TO RELEASE HIS 36th ALBUM “BEWARE” APRIL 25!

 Sanchez— Beware, the 36th album from Sanchez, will be released on April 25. The 14-song set is produced by Lloyd ‘John John’ James. On it, the veteran singer collaborates with Sizzla Kalonji, Tony Curtis, Beenie Man and up-and-coming artist Mowet. “This is actually my 36th album and it feels like my first. As usual, it has been great working with John John and all the artists and musicians involved on this project. There were some great recording sessions, which, looking back, we should have had a video camera rolling, because the vibes and the energy and the creativity were way way up,” said Sanchez. SANCHEZ HEADS TO “LIVE IN CONCERT” IN NEGRIL, FEBRUARY 23!

 Sanchez in performance—- Sanchez, who has been doing the local show scene in recent times, is the feature act for the next ‘Live In Concert’ series at Jamaica Tamboo in Negril. The show takes place February 23. Worrel King of King of King Promotions, producers of the show, said it has been well-received since its launch last February. “What a show like this does is give an artiste with a catalogue the opportunity to do a full set and not worry about hurrying up to come off stage, ‘cause 30 other man on it,” he told the Jamaica Observer.
