In 1986 Patrick Anthony Morrison, an aspiring singer who had grown up in Porus in the parish of Manchester, Jamaica, took the second prize in the Tastee Talent contest. Brian Thompson took the first. Admiring each other’s skills, the two young men decided to form a vocal team, and the world got Brian and Tony Gold, one of Jamaica’s most prolific duos giving us hits such as ‘Bullseye’, ‘Poisin’ with Dennis Brown, ‘Irresistale’, ‘Compliments’ with Red Dragon and the timeless ‘Can You’.
