He said from all indicators, the numbers for both nights reflected an increase over previous years, and identified the high point as being the performance by reggae singer Beres Hammond on night two of the event.   Marcia Griffiths & Ken Boothe “Groovin’ In The Park”   Thirty-five years after they performed with Bob Marley at Madison Square Garden, Marcia Griffiths and Judy Mowatt returned to New York City and gave a stellar performance at Sunday’s Groovin’ In The Park show in Queens. Mowatt performed in the Marcia Griffiths and Friends segment which also featured Bob Andy, Ken Boothe and Tony Gregory. It celebrated Griffiths’ 50th year in the music business.  Marcia Griffiths— Promoters of the annual Groovin’ In The Park concert in Queens, New York say their decision to present a diverse cast of acts has paid off. According to Chris Roberts of organisers Groovin’ Inc, the menu of rock steady, reggae, dancehall and R&B appeals to different generations. “The combination is a natural fit that is always highly anticipated and enjoyed by the audience here in the Diaspora. The attendance has grown approximately 25 per cent annually and based on feedback about the line-up from fans and early ticket sales, we anticipate a larger growth this year,” Roberts told the OBSERVER ONLINE.
