It is an appropriate time to tell the story of his song Fighting Against Convictions, which Wailer first told to The Sunday Gleaner in May 2010. TOOTS TO SAIL WITH “WELCOME TO JAM ROCK REGGAE CRUISE” NOVEMBER 14-19!

 By Brian Bonitto—  Toots Hibbert— LEGENDARY reggae singer Toots Hibbert and his Maytal band are slated to be among the performers for the Welcome to Jam Rock Reggae Cruise, on November 14 to 19. According to concert tour publication Pollstar, Hibert is booked for six performances. Hibbert had been recuperating from injuries sustained at Dominion Riverrock Festival in the American state of Virginia, in 2013. He was struck on the head with a vodka bottle by a man identified as William Connor Lewis while performing his hit single Country Road. The wound required several stitches at the VCU Medical Center. The drunken fan was arrested and charged by police. Lewis was charged with assault and battery. He served a six-month jail sentence. Jamaican psychiatrist Winston De La Haye diagnosed Hibbert with major depressive disorder, post traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injury, according to new legal filings. “He had a downward gaze and his affect became suddenly sad when he reported that for the first time in many years he was experiencing what it feels like to be broke and unable to support his family financially,” the psychiatrist writes.
