STATUES TO BE MOUNTED AT THE NATIONAL STADIUM FOR USAIN BOLT, VERONICA CAMPBELL, SHELLY-ANN FRASER, AND ASAFA POWELL!

Veronica Campbell Brown— Statues of sprint king Usain Bolt and queen Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce will be mounted at the National Stadium Statue Park by next year. The statues, which are among four that will be built, are expected to be completed in time for the Jamaica 55 Independence celebrations in 2017. Sport Minister Olivia Grange said statues of Bolt, Veronica Campbell-Brown, Fraser-Pryce and Asafa Powell will be made over the next two years. The statues of Veronica Campbell-Brown and Asafa Powell will be completed for the following year. They will be mounted at the National Stadium Statue Park as part of a wider planned development of the stadium complex, which includes the National Sport Museum. Usain Bolt is spending over $10 million to set up a razor blade business called Champion Shave and is now actively seeking retailers to push the products into three markets. The Olympian and sport celebrity is tapping a current trend in men’s grooming for a new six-blade razor, said executive manager Nugent Walker, speaking on behalf of Bolt. “The trend showed that there’s need for the new six-blade technology,” he told Gleaner Business.
