The record label, which has dedicated decades to the promotion of reggae, dancehall, and soca music abroad, is now expected to create specific playlists geared at serving the interests of music lovers not only in the Caribbean, but globally. “VP RECORDS STEALING MILLIONS FROM REGGAE/DANCEHALL ARTISTS” SAYS MR. VEGAS!

Reggae powerhouse label VP Records is getting called out once again for shady business . This time the label is being accused by Mr.Vegas for failing to pay him his royalties, and stealing millions from other Dancehall and Reggae artists . Vegas took to his facebook page to detail VP Records shady business practices and warn other artists not to do business with VP. VP’S PAT CHIN TO RECEIVE LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD!

   Pat Chin—- PAT Chin, matriarch of Randy’s and VP Records, will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at next month’s A2IM’s Libera Awards. The event takes place June 25 at Highline Ballroom in New York City. The ‘Lifetime’ is among the top accolades at the Libera Awards, which recognises the year’s top independent music label achievers. Chin founded VP with her husband Vincent in 1979. They previously operated Randy’s in downtown Kingston. Vincent Chin died in 2003. VP is the largest independent distributor of dancehall/reggae. Based in Queens, the company has released numerous albums by dancehall’s elite including Beres Hammond, Beenie Man and Sean Paul. Last year’s Lifetime Achievement Award went Bruce Iglauer of Chicago blues label, Alligator Records. That company first distributed Mutabaruka’s album, Check It!, in 1983. NIGERIA’S TOP DANCEHALL ACT PATORANKING, SIGNS DEAL WITH VP RECORDS!

The reigning king of dancehall music in Nigeria signs an international record deal with the world’s leading music label for reggae and dancehall music.  Patoranking signing the record deal.   Instagram Patoranking was once a dancer for Daddy Showkey.   Foston Musik Hot dancehall act Patoranking has reportedly signed a distribution deal with VP Records, which is the biggest reggae music imprint in the world. The Foston Musik signee posted a picture of him signing the distribution deal with VP Records exec. The caption read “Foston Musik/Vp Records. God is great.
