WARRIOR KING HEADS TO EUROPE FOR THE SECOND TIME THIS YEAR!

WARRIOR King– Roots singer Warrior King heads to Europe for the second time this year, for shows in France, Austria, Germany and The Netherlands. A mix of festival and club dates, the first gig is Rast’Art Festival on June 12 in Caen, Normandy France. The following day, Warrior King is at Studio Club in the commune of Cergy. On June 14, he travels to Vienna, the Austrian capital, for a show at the Fania Live Club. Warrior King, who toured the continent in February, enjoys performing in Europe. “The people are very receptive to reggae, very appreciative. Is like dem can’t get enough of the music,” he said. Warrior King— By Curtis Campbell— There is yet another clash of the genres brewing as some reggae and dancehall artists have come out in defence of their respective genres, while casting blame on the other for the negative light being shed abroad on Jamaica’s indigenous music. Dancehall’s duo RDX is of the view that old-school reggae artists are doing dancehall music a huge injustice abroad. According to the duo, old-school reggae artists are selling foreigners the idea that dancehall music only offers negativity. RDX member Delomar claims that journalists have confided in him during interview sessions that some old-school reggae artists have repeatedly bashed the dancehall genre because they regard it as being inferior to reggae music.
