The American Idol exodus continues.

On Thursday, judges Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj, who frequently feuded on the singing competition’s just-completed season, both announced that they are leaving the show.

Carey, who has a No. 1 global hit with Miguel titledBeautiful, made the news official in a tweet Thursday afternoon from her publicity team: “W/ global success of “#Beautiful” (#1 in 30+ countries so far) @mariahcarey confirms world tour & says goodbye 2 Idol”

Fox and Idol‘s producers released a statement about the announcement: “Mariah Carey is a true global icon — one of the most accomplished artists on the planet — and we feel extremely fortunate that she was able to bring her wisdom and experience to the ‘American Idol’ contestants this season. We know she will remain an inspiration to ‘Idol’ hopefuls for many seasons to come.”

Shortly after, Minaj, who joined American Idol in the fall with Carey and Keith Urban, also took to Twitter to announce her departure, saying it is “time to focus on the music.”

Fox and Idol producer FremantleMedia said in a statement that they wish Minaj the best.

The departures follow that of veteran judge Randy Jackson.
