HERE COMES SINGER HUGH ENGLISH!

Jamaican Ras Tafari recording artist Donovan Hugh English, popularly known as “Hugh English” was born on November 12th, 1965, in Trench Town, Kingston 12. He grew up in the musical community of Waterhouse, Kingston 11 with his aunt. While growing up in Waterhouse, he met a lot of friends such as singer Andrew Bees (lead singer of Reggae’s first Grammy winning Black Uhuru), the late Wayne “Sleng Teng”Smith, Hugh Mundell, singers Junior Reid, Half Pint, King Everald, and “Dub Inventor” the late great King Tubbys, just to name a few.

He then migrated back to his original community Trench Town to pursue music,and started his professional career in 2012 with the recording of various singles like “Sufferation”, and “Muss Buss” on his own Trench Town International Music label. He had also worked with other producers such as Spugy B of Unisyz Muzik ,Orville Stewart of Triple L Records and Earl Chinna Smith Jr of Home Grown Muzik. Songs that have gave him some recognition are “Gun In The Hands Of Fools”, “Youths From Trench Town”.

2015 saw him link up with chief musicians such as legendary guitarist Earl “Earl Chinna Smith, Drummer Carlton Santa Davis,Bassist Christopher Meredith, Keyboardist Robbie Lyn, Percussionist Sangie Davis, with the songstress Pam Hall on harmonies in paying tribute to the legendary group The Beatles with their classic rendition of “Hey Jude”.

He is now linked up with long time school days and community friend, Fitzroy “Rocky” Francis, Record Producer of Mightyful13 Records, for his International promotions and Management along with his local team consist of publicist Fayan Foster, engineer Earl Smith Jnr, and Public Relation Dimitri Murray

“Hey Jude” is now enjoying great rotation on various radio station in Jamaica, US and Worldwide, and has already entered The Foundation Radio Network (NY) Top 30 Music Chart.
